- After a maximum of 30 days, these paddlers may continue to practice upon payment of the current year AZDBA dues
- Only paddlers, coaches, steersman, and drummers age 8 and older who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have notified the AZDBA Membership Coordinator of a medical or religious exemption are allowed in an AZDBA boat.
- Paddlers under the age of 8 currently are not allowed to participate.
- Any vaccine exempt paddler should not participate in practice if they have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to practice.
- Any paddler who has COVID-19 will not participate at practice until:
- It has been more than 14 days since symptoms began.
- The paddler has been fever-free for more than 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
- Other symptoms have improved.
Note: The CDC is no longer recommending a negative COVID-19 test before going back out in public.
- Boat Capacity:
- Minimum of 10 paddlers in a standard (20 person) boat.
- Minimum of 6 paddlers in a small (10 person) boat.
- Each team’s coach and/or individual paddlers are responsible for providing their own hand sanitizer.
- Rosters must be kept by the Team Captain/Coach (normally via Team Snap or hard copy) for all practice attendees. This will allow for contact tracing should anyone have been exposed to or in close contact with someone with COVID-19, 10 days prior to or during practice.
- The AZDBA rules shown above are the minimum COVID-19 safety requirements. Team Coaches/Captains may implement stricter requirements within their teams for added levels of safety.
Note: These are the current AZDBA COVID-19 rules to allow participants to safely return to the water. These rules will be reviewed and updated regularly by the AZDBA Board based on changes to city, state, or CDC rules/recommendations, as well as observations, input, and feedback of the AZDBA membership.
