The CrAZy Cuddlefish is Arizona’s first youth dragon boat team. We accept youth ages 8-18. What started as a casual conversation between two AZDBA members about forming a youth dragon boat team quickly evolved into a growing and thriving team of approximately 40 youth paddlers. With the assistance and guidance of the Coaches from our cousin club, the LA Country Dragon Boat Club, the team was formed in early 2017, made their inaugural appearance at the 2017 Arizona Dragon Boat Festival, and has since competed in several other festivals throughout the west coast including Henderson (Las Vegas), NV and Los Angeles, CA.

Our team serves as the building foundation of our organization. It serves as a stepping stone for children to build and hone in on their skills and ultimately progress to our competitive adult teams. The CrAZy Cuddlefish has also partnered with Na Leo O Ke Kai Outrigger Canoe Club, in order to offer both dragon boat and outrigger paddling. Our coaches have a combined total of over 33 years of experience with both dragon boat and outrigger paddling and over 27 years of experience working with children. The team also has continuous opportunities for paddling clinics which are offered through our partnerships with coaches on the national level.
